1) Build the Base Rails (Slip-Fit)

Shed construction starts at the base rails. Base rails have swaged (reduced) ends that slip inside the next rail — this is our slip-fit system.

Slide each swaged end fully into the next rail, align everything straight, then secure each slip-fit join with screws on both sides.

2) Grounding (Industrial Options)

Industrial sheds are grounded using either Concrete Piers or Saddles with Dynabolts. Position your base rails as per your engineering drawings before fixing down.

If using saddles and dynabolts, mark and drill the slab, fit dynabolts, then tighten saddles to lock the base rails in place. If using concrete piers, position and fix the base rails to the piers as shown in your kit instructions.

3) Build Portal Frames on the Ground

Build each portal frame fully on the ground first — Industrial portal frames are much heavier than standard frames. Once assembled, lift the completed portal into position with two or more people.

Your kit includes heavy-duty connection points such as double-stitched apexes and shoulders (two welded sections), designed to suit industrial members. Ensure each join is seated correctly before fastening.

1) Riser Kit (If Included)

If your kit includes a riser kit, use it to level the shed on uneven ground. Run a string line across the base rails and adjust risers until the string is level.

Measure from the string line down to the base rail to confirm the correct rise needed.

2) Rafters & Risers (Industrial Note)

On Industrial sheds, rafters and risers are not swaged. Only the base rails, apexes and shoulders are swaged. Align parts carefully and fasten as shown in your engineering drawings.

3) Install Bracing

Semi-Industrial kits include shoulder braces. Full Industrial kits include shoulder braces and (where supplied) truss braces. Shoulder braces should be installed at a 45° angle as per your drawings.

Truss braces are commonly supplied on larger sheds and/or higher wind ratings (for example, many 12m C2 kits include them). Some sheds 9m and under may not include truss braces — always install the braces supplied for your kit exactly as shown in your engineering documentation.

1) Align the First Roof Sheet

Place the first sheet on the frame and align it so it sits straight and centred. Mark screw positions at the front, middle and rear portal frames.

2) Fix Sheets & Overlaps

Screw the first sheet to all portals. Slide the next sheet under the previous one, screw the overlap, then fasten it to the frame.

3) Flashing (If Selected)

Cut small relief cuts (~10mm) so the flashing bends cleanly. Attach from one corner and work your way around the shed.
